The subject of water and an environmentally friendly outlook are important to all partner schools. The project will be concerned with geography, biology, English, environment, IT, health education, culture studies and eco-tourism. Students will be encouraged to take responsibility for their own health and their environment. The project activities also aim to develop communication skills, problem solving ability, decision making, teamwork, presentation and IT skills.Cross-cultural and cross-curricular learning will be supported. Teachers benefit from the exchange of teaching methods and experiences.
In Year 1 we will focus on different studies (water quality, flora and fauna in our waters etc); studying the environment (water usage in schools and homes, different ways for saving water resources, organizing water saving campaign, studying the usage of water as a source of energy etc). During the project our students and staff will visit water companies. Each school will present their results at project meetings.
In Year 2 we will study different landforms which are formed by water, gather water-related legends and create new ones which will be used in cartoon workshop. Throughout both project years we will get engaged in photo-hunt where each country takes photos of different bodies of water, water birds, water plants etc., the results of which should be used for promoting responsible eco-tourism. The project will end with a conference where all studies will be summed up and important water-related presentations made. The gathered material will be stored on a project website.
